Rat pimple? Help!

My male rat of about eight months has what looks like a pimple above his nose to the right side of his face.has this happened to anyone before? What is it? What should I do? Is it urgent and should I go to the vet?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much

Probably a tiny abscess in the whisker bed. You can just leave it and watch and wait or speed up the process with warm damp compresses. A tiny abscess will surface, drain and usually be gone

Thank you so much! He's a relatively newly adopted rat so I will try to use a damp compress if he lets me. This advice was very helpful and saved me from going to the vet and spending money. Thanks!
