Rat picking at stiches

Hello, one of my boys had a tumour removed and won't stop messing with his stitches. I have been staying up with him but I gotta sleep at some point. I'm thinking he's pain meds may have been underdosed. He is around 420g and was given 0.16 ml of Meloxicam 0.5 mg/ml. I have meloxicam 1.5 mg /ml at home. Can I give him some more or was the dose from the vets enough for today?

I'm sorry, I missed this. Dose was waaaay too low for 0.5 mg/ml. It should've been 0.67 ml once a day.

For 1.5 mg/ml it would be 0.22 ml

I hope he's okay now

Thank you for getting back to me anyway ! I stayed up most of the night with him and in the morning increased his dosage and he isn't really bothered by it anymore! He did manage to mess with it a little before I increased the dose but nothing too serious. I guess the skin will just heal a little weird.

The skin will take a bit longer but in time it should heal fine
