One of my rats, Sandy, is currently recovering from a pretty nasty respiratory infection. Though his overall behavior has improved significantly, one thing I've noticed is that he hasn't really been eating his normal food. He still drinks water, and he'll eat treats when I give them to him, but he's largely disinterested in his regular rat food. Because of this, he's been losing a lot of weight. I've been feeding them both the same brand since I got them, and they've never had any problems with it before.
One thing to note is that recently, he's developed a growth on his side that I'm almost certain is a tumor. I know rats are prone to these, so normally I wouldn't be that concerned, but I can't help but wonder if that may have something to do with why he's not eating normally.
