So as I am preparing for a new group of little ratties, I was wondering if some more experienced owners could help me put together a medical Kit. So if a rat gets ill during out of hours or need urgent care before they can see a vet etc...

Many thanks for any help/ advice i recieve

Mandatory - infant liquid ibuprofen for any sprains or strains, injuries where you need to keep the rat comfortable as long as there is no internal bleeding, or a surgical procedure coming up soon
Mandatory - a digital scale with 1 gram increments (flat ones are best) and a TARE feature is helpful
Mandatory - 1 ml./cc medicating syringes are important
Mandatory - antibiotics like amoxicillin (babies or pregnant moms) Baytril (enrofloxacin) as its a broad spectrum antibiotic which will work on most things, Mandatory/Optional - Doxycycline is a wonderful add-on for respiratory issues. Azithromycin, Clavamox are also good for adding to Baytril to make a good combo of antibiotics.
Optional but nice - Snugglesafe or some heat source for sick/hypothermic rats or vet vists/post-op travel as their temps drop post-surgery
