My two year old rat had a tumor removed today. He's doing great, and doesn't even seem sleepy. You'd never know he just had surgery if it weren't for the wound.

I'm keeping him in a recovery cage, separate from his brother. I let them interact briefly earlier and his brother attacked him. I quickly separated them, but his brother keeps coming back to the recovery cage, looking at him through the bars, and squeaking at him. I'm thinking it may be the post-op smell that's freaking him out, but he's clearly distressed about something. I want to let them interact again ASAP, since they've known each other forever and are extremely close, but I want to make sure it's safe.

Any thoughts?
