My female rat Zelda (1 and a half years old), is being treated for an ear infection at the moment and today i’ve noticed the affected ear has been continuously shaking.

She is fine otherwise and it doesn’t seem to bother her. I’m going to see the vet for a checkup in a few days but i wanted to know if this is something that requires urgent attention!

Is this normal for them to do or is there something else going on?

Thank you in advance :)

What meds is she on? Her weight, and doses of meds. Was she given a steroid? Her ear my just be super itchy, or she may feel like she has something tickling in there. Try rubbing it for her. I kinda push my finger on their ear, and rub in circles. If it feels good to her, she will maybe clench her fist, or lean into it, or start scratching at it. If she resists, then don't push it.
