I finally got a slightly bigger cage for my boys, which means I can now take in one or two more friends! I might be able to rescue some younger boys soon. My question is: Would it be better to move my 2 current boys into the bigger cage first, then use the original cage (after deep cleaning of course) as quarantine for the new boy(s)? Or should I keep them where they are, quarantine the new boys in the new cage, then rearrange and add my older boys in? I'm a little worried about one of my older boys getting territorial since he seems to be getting hormonal aggression (they are about 8 months old) and he's not neutered yet (hopefully soon), so I was thinking maybe it would be better if after the quarantine period and intros they are put with the new boys in a new cage, like a fresh start? These are my first rats so it will be my first time doing quarantine and intros.
