Please share vet for rats in Ontario/Canada - about Millennium City Veterinary

Hi I have asked before and would like to ask again... if anyone in Ontario/Canada has had decent (or even average) experiences with vet clinics that handle ratties, please share... seems hard to find and I think a list of a few of them would help members with a sick rattie tremendously. I think a lot of them say they will handle rats but their rat knowledge may really be very general.

On a related note, I took my rat to Millennium City Veterinary in Pickering for suspected PT. This place is highly recommended (google reviews and members in these forums too). Unfortunately I have come to discover that this info is out of date. The original doctor (I believe Dr J. Sawyer who had nothing but praises as a vet in general but also excellent rat knowledge) seems to have sold the practice around 10 years ago. Does anyone know if she is still practicing as a vet and her whereabouts? The vet I ended up seeing there was not bad per se, but I would say most long time members of this forum know much more about dealing with rat's issues than him.

Waterloo West Animal Hospital is excellent and more affordable than many places. Dr. Makkapati is awesome. Dr. Mahboob is pretty good too, but doesn't have the same bedside manner as his colleague.

I know this post is old but I use Carling Animal Hospital!

I use Carling Animal Hospital too as it has a cluster of rat-seasoned exotics specialists. So too does Bells Corner Animal Hospital, which is part of the VCA chain. Both of these are in the Ottawa area and so quite far from Pickering. Mississippi Mills Animal Hospital near Almonte also has one fine, rat-experienced vet named Dr. Daren Auger. Again, Almonte is in eastern Ontario near Ottawa.
If given a choice between equally fine vets in a private operation vs a Mars-owned VCA franchise I'd choose the former...but not all rat owners have such options.
