Need an answer!

I bought three very young feeder rats a few days ago. They all have uris i believe (sneezing/wheezing but no other symptoms really) i am treating them so i dont need info on that, but im a hypochondriac and I am so worried that whatever they have i can catch. Ive been having trouble breathing but i think its just anxiety. I need answers! Does the bacteria in rats lungs affect humans? I havent found any info on it. thanks!

Welcome! You can not catch your rats' respiratory infections if it is an infection. If they are on meds like baytril, they should be on med anyway. Your trouble breathing could very well be allergies to rats.

Or stress at the thought. There are very few illnesses that a rat can give to a human or vice versa. Ringworm is one, and strep pneumonia (NOT strep throat). Other than that don't worry.
