I need Advice on what to do with my little girl? my five-year-old son thought it would be OK to grab Sweet Peas tail and swing her in circles her skin came off her tail. Her tail is exposed I do not have the funds currently to get it taken care of in the meantime what do I need to do??? I have her in a separate box with dry paper towels from my other rats

You really need to get her to a vet. If you don’t have the money you could always explain that to the vet and possibly give them multiple small payments at a time. I really hope this advice isn’t reaching you too late because this is extremely serious. Please post an update when you can, I don’t think I’ll stop worrying about you and your poor rat without the closure :( I really hope she’s ok

First thing that is needed for a tail degloving is pain medication, (infant ibuprofen is good or children's) I'd need to guess a weight to give you a dose. After that you will need antibiotics to prevent infection forb5-7 days. Do you have any amoxicillin in your cupboard? Ciprofloxacin?

After that keep her on paper towels or fleece until the tail dries and bedding isn't able to stick to it. In time the tail will die, dry up and she will chew it off. Helping with pain initially (day or 2) and antibiotics to prevent infection is key.
I would advise a lock on the rats cage door until your son learns how to handle a rat gently with supervision.

Here's my case history with Lilith without my vet who had been hospitalized at the time.

degloving is a very serious injury. How many inches have been degloved? My 1yr old female recently had a degloving of 1.5 inches from her tail. You must understand how painful this is for a rat. You must keep your child away from that rat. Also, you need to go to a vet. Imagine if someone took the skin off your finger and the bone was exposed. That's what just happened to your rat. Vets will help and take a payment plan.
