The other humane way is euthanasia, which renders the animal unusable as food since the body is now contaminated with drugs. Best to just not own an animal that requires cruelty to eat.

Ah they are so cute!! I would actually recommend watching The Rat Guru on youtube to learn more about rats! It's very helpful and very good to learn about them so you can give them the best life you can!
