mass intro- Phase 2 and phase 3- partial move in

I have always thought it would be amazing to have most of my rats in one group. My wall o rats has two triple fns and one double.

Triple one is my oldest group of rats most are. 17 monthes to 25 months. This is templeton and dopeys left over rats. 12 rats 7 males and 5 females. Most males are intact but have been introd with no real problems.

Triple two is finley who was a problem but he has been introd before, he is neutered.
The bealtles 4 boys 3 to be neutered on the 22nd. The 5 music men. All are about 6 months old. Total of 11 boys.

The double has romeo and horatio… 7 boys from 9 mths to 17 months old. 2 girls about 9 months old.

My rexzilla monsters will not be included in tis at all.
I know most of the problems isee are caused by other rats smell now if I could get them in one group the we could eliminate that. Sounds good anyway lol

I would also like ideas on how. I have space worked out so that is not a problem. Would you start with two groups then do the 3rd later or would you do all 3? Just a one and done approach.

I would love to remove the lower doors and turn that part in one large cage with constant access to the floor. At 5 per section it is big enough for 40 rats. It would be a total of 32 rats. I am seeking opinions on what is to many for a group. My whole reason for this is more outtime less worries about them getting near a group they don't belong in. It hasn't. Happened but it is always a worry.

Holy crapola! Now that's a mass intro indeed. My biggest intro was 23. You need eyes in the back of your head. If you can be more than one person during the intro, that will help you a lot. I would do the whole bunch and watch the problem kids. Definitely needs to be done on neutral ground with nothing but yummy foods. I'd do it on a double/queen size bed.

They are terrified of the living room so I plan on making a pen area in there. When we move into the rat room floor it will be easy because I have all of the cages blocked so it will be only open space so no spots to hide and fight under. I hope it works.

I did a neutral area intro late this morning with 3 groups ... everyone except Christmas so 30 ratties (grp of 21 + mama & 5 nine wk olds + 3 seniors) ... it went well ....
I did it on a double bed as the tub was too small ..... with a big dish of greek yogurt & mushed up banana.

I think the biggest issue is getting them all to one area, that is a lot to transport

I don't know what is too many for a group ....
If you think it may be too large, you can always have them introed so they all have out time together but live in smaller groups.

I don't know that I would say it is to many. It will be hard to carry 3 groups into the other room lol but that is the biggest draw back. I thought about the out time together but my concern is it would be harder. Right now I just take the lower doors off and put a ramp up. If I did out time only I would keep them from the cage and most groups the cage is open for hours at a time. I have it set up now so the other cages are blocked off during the other rats out time. It got old fast picking rats off the cage to protect toes.

I just have to figure out how to conatain 32 rats while I clean the cages good for the move in when it comes time lol

Cash seems to have a hairless rat fettish, he humped every naked rat out there. and he has been tormenting finley all day.

Well poop is in overload here daily. LOL we mop the rat room twice a week here.

They really shouldnt be so bad. They have lived together in the same room for a long time. they all share the same floor space at different times so they should know each others smell.

my biggest thing will be figuring out the cage and how to let them live outside of it together and in it.

that was hours before the intros he has been humping him for a while now. This whole time I thought those screams were cash, Nope he was being violated in the hammocks by cash. And he doesnt hump any of the others he humped every single hairless that was on that intro today. He loves him some nakie rats.

No and I am so confused why he takes it. He was given to me for being a jerk and kicking the owners older males butts at 10 weeks old. I got him nuetered. He has put gashes on tart when I introd the 19 boys be was a bit of a bossy brat. When I put templeton and dopeys group together he kept beating up my girls. I took him out had easy intros with the music men and nownthis. Cash screams but lately I have heard a ton of different screams I assumed it was cash. Two days ago I seen the hammock moving a lot. I looked in and cash was raping him.he has yet to stop. Finley has attitude and will bite but he hasn't. He just walks away. I guess since finley is the only nuetered male that cash is confused but he only humped the naked rats lol he nailed them all on the couch ha ha.
