Lump on rat

Hi all,
One of my female rats has developed a lump on her lower stomach area. The lump appeared overnight and feels soft and possibly fluid filled. It has slightly increased in size over the last 2 weeks, but seems to be causing her no distress as she is eating, sleeping etc and is still her outgoing self. Thinking of booking a vet consultation, wondered if anyone has encountered a similar situation.

Hi, thanks so much for your reply.
At first we thought the lump could've been a cyst as it appeared so quickly and didnt feel entirely solid, but starting to think it's a tumour. I will take her to the vet and get her checked out. Thanks again!

I have to concur that definitely looks more like a mammary tumour. Good luck at the vets!

Thanks all for the responses. Does anyone know if most vets will treat rats? Since they're considered an unusual pet we weren't sure if we could take them to our usual vet, or if we would have to find one that treats small animals.

Most times you will need to find an exotics vet or a vet dog/cat vet willing to learn for more basic stuff.
