Sad. Rat haters don't know what they're missing. They probably imagine the huge wild rats full of diseases when they think about rats.

But huge wild rats aren't full of diseases. That's just paranoia from public health a century ago. Animals and humans share various zoonoses.

it wasn't even wild rattus norvegicus who carried the fleas which caused the plagues, it was rattus rattus :wink2:

Both existed, and time and time again brown rats(norvegicus) have thrived where black rats originally had a home. they are the more dominant species. There's nothing saying it wasn't both of them, really.
