I'm looking for an air purifier for my rat room as they are constantly sneezing and I've already put out hundreds on antibiotics.
The Honeywell AirGenius 5 looked great! Did not list an ionizer, nor ozone, however on more internet searching it does put out a small amount of ozone. It claims to be well below the normal ozone production as the ionizer is not the main cleaning mechanism.

Here is a website with additional details .
I do not order online anymore as I've had cards hacoe multiple times.
This is one of the only air purifiers in store. Better than nothing???? Or any suggestions?

Ionizers are not safe to use with rats.
It is best to use one with both a permanent heap filter and a replaceable carbon filter

I use a Honeywell that has both a permanent heap filter and a replaceable carbon filter
Perhaps the store would order in a Honeywell for you since they carry that brand if you tell them which one you want (needs to be large enough to handle the size of the room)

Okay... Do you have a specific brand and model? I have been having bad luck.
This one had a permanent filter AND did not state on the box an ionizer at all. It was hidden in the manual.
Every others I've seen that have no ionizer listed have ionizers in the manual.

It sounds incredibly frustrating!!

These look like the 2 I have …. although they were not that expensive

https://www.honeywellstore.com/stor...m-fighting-allergen-reducer-air-purifier.htm# The round one is for larger rooms and is too loud

If you check that site there are other models labeled "True HEPA Air Purifier" and if you watch the videos there is an email address given so you can contact the company and ask questions.

For example this one might be ok but you would need to double check with the company https://www.honeywellstore.com/stor...ifier-with-allergen-remover-black-hpa100.htm#

This site will allow you to see descriptions, video, reviews, read the manual and see other models

Edit: I looked up AirGenius 5 Air Cleaner & Odor Reducer, HFD320 at the site I previously posted https://www.honeywellstore.com/store/products/airgenius-5-air-cleaner-and-odor-reducer-hfd320.htm#
- the video did not mention an ionizer but it was mentioned in the manual on this site

I hope that this helps ....... guess I was more fortunate then I realised because I just went to a local hardware store (Canadian Tire) and looked at several models

hope you have better luck
Thanks! Yeah, it's very misleading!! I think I have found a few models without ionizers. Yay!
