I want to expand my cage help

I have a my first home large which is a cage that's 30"L x 18"W x 16"H I added a shelf and a bunch of other things
I would like to expand my home maybe add a second one of these cages.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Some folks here have added a second cage by either putting one on top of the other, and making another ladder or ramp to get up to the top cage. Another suggestion is putting one side by side, then cutting out a hole in each cage, and connecting the two with a tunnel of sorts. I am not sure exactly how it is done, but I know others here have done some very cool expansions.

I have modified a number of cages but to be honest, if possible, replacing your cage with a much larger one works a lot better.

im adding on to my large cage too. my homemade cage looks like this:

it sits on the floor and has carpet on the bottom. im going to be making it taller to house all my girls

I think I'm going to go with getting a new cage
I don't really have the time to build an extension to my cage.
Honestly I guess I would prefer 10inches in length to my cage now, not only height

I really like this cage too, it holds up to 6 rats I guess, I'm having a pretty hard time figuring out which cage I would like...

Personally, I would get a powder coated martins R695, a FN or a CN.
You can often find FNs being sold second had on sites like kijiji

the critter nation was the best investment i have ever made. its so easy to clean and maintain, and our girls absolutely love all the room. i would encourage you to look into that cage.

I have a double FN for my 6 boys and a double CN for my 4 girls...best investment I've made for my lil angel bubs so far :wink2:

In the end, I ended up getting a double Critter nation
Then 2 DCN's... Then 3, they all stack together with zip ties.
