So I got 9 week old rats last week and I’m not sure when I should let them out of the cage for exercise. I’m a bit nervous to as they aren’t quite used to being handled yet and their only just eating from my hand, I don’t want to scare them by trying to get them back in their cage as they’re still quite skittish!
Any advice would be so appreciated!! Thankyou :)

Have you had any luck with bringing your fuzzies out for playtime? How many do you have? Did you get males or females?

If they're in a location where it's possible, you could always try putting a ramp from their cage to the play space (provided that area is well-secured to prevent escape, and/or you're right there to supervise). Giving them a treat when they go back can teach them to associate going back home with a delicious treat, making them more likely to want to return when playtime is done.
