How many babies do rats have on average?

hi guys , rat mom that adopts pregnant rats here. I have only adopted two females rats in the last 8 months who have been pregnant. I am wondering on average how many rats per litter because I have seen sites that say in between 5 and 12... but I have a baby girl that gave 10, and the other 15 o.o
So my average is therefore way over what they claim
Does anybody have any experience or an estimation of their own ?

It can vary from 1 only up to 22(i am pretty sure i read that)! but average is around 10. It just luck of the draw really.

Well, female rats have 12 nipples so yeah, lots of babies!

Average litter size is 12 to 14, but can range from 2 to 26 babies in a litter
