Hi all,
We've been struggling with what we thought was a myco flare up since march. After months of Baytril and Doxycycline I sought the advice of a breeder here in the UK who said she thought it more likely it might be pasturella.
On her advice we have tried switching to Bisolvon and Sulfatrim (Co-Trimoxazole). So far we are starting to see improvement after a week on Bisolvon and Doxy, so have switched the Doxy out for Sulfatrim as the vet was initially concerned about resistance to antibiotics developing.
Only trouble is, the Sulfatrim is aniseed flavoured and I am struggling to mask the smell, especially when it comes to the worst affected of our bunch.
Does anyone have any advice please? Syringing into her mouth is not really happening and is spat out more than swallowed.
I've tried various combinations of baby porridge, malt paste, lick-e-lix cat treats, cream cheese and fruit baby food.
Thanks!
