Okay so I just got my 3 new girls yesterday and have never had rats before, two of them are "hairless" rats now I was doing some research on them, and they definitely have less hair than any standard rat but they do have thin fuzz and very curly whiskers, instead of straight ones. Is this just another form of hairless rat or are they something else, like a cross breed?

Awww ….. such sweet little rattie girls
btw if you have access to a good rat vet with the knowledge and experience to safely spay rats (no injectable anesthetic) then you might consider having them spayed for health reasons when they are large enough https://www.ratshackforum.com/threads/why-spay-or-neuter-rats.35402/

They likely have a rex coat, and if they lose patches of hair and then grow hair they would be double rex.
Their hair could be thin because they are molting, or because they are "poor rexes" or because they are double rex.

Jorats or Lilspaz68 could tell you a lot more they know a lot more about rex and double rex rats

Thank you so much about the information especially fixing them, I have an appointment next month and I’m going to call and see if they’ll be able to spay them, I’ve never personally use this vet but I was told he does rats.
