So after much back thought and discussion with my vet, I’ve decided to castrate one of my boys as he seems to be uncomfortable with his hormones, and hopefully his brothers might like him again!
It’s the first time having a castration done, and also the first time I’ve had an operation done that isn’t strictly needed so I’m very nervous and hope he recovers well.
I trust my vet, I’ve checked he does it via scrotum and not abdomen, via gas and using glue which from my research seems to be the best. He will also be getting pain meds.
I have his hospital cage all set up, a snuggle safe and some soft foods for the first day or so if he’s not feeling so hot.
Is there anything I need to expect? Or anything I need to ask the vet? I’m very anxious about the whole thing so any advice would be much appreciated.
