Unless they are tiny guys they should be fine I moved our rescue boys in at 5-6 months old and never had any issues.

The martins The Rat Skyscraper (R-695) powder coated (otherwise it will rust.
Do not use the c-rings to put it together as they rust, instead use a couple of hundred cable ties.
You will need to cover all wire floors - suggest a piece of thick linoleum cut to fit for the 2nd floor, and dollar store dish drain trays cut to fit and cable tied on for the 2 balconies.

The single FN is a good cage but if you think you will ever get smaller or younger rats, you may want to invest in a critter nation as the bar spacing is smaller
