Dehydrated?

I have a tendency to (it will sound gross i know im sorry) steal my ratties poops from them. I noticed that my one dude mochi, who's about 6-8 months now had really small turds. When he pooped they were semi hard but looked like an old turd. It was normal color, dark brown, but small/thin and semi hard.

Is he dehydrated or could there be another issue?

He should be okay, but keep an eye out and see if it continues. Hopefully you have your rats on a healthy block diet with veggies a few times a week.

Also, I could be wrong, but I think you can tell if a rat is dehydrated by pulling up the skin on the back of their neck and seeing if it falls quickly. If not, theyre dehydrated.
