I have a 5 month old neurered male whose older cage mate recently passed away. I want to get him a new friend but the waitlist for reputable breeders in my area is quite long. I have one breeder that has 6 week olds right now but only females available. Would there be anything wrong or any foreseeable problems with pairing a female with my neuter?

Neutered boys and girls do well together :)
- however, you might consider spaying when the girl(s) are old enough because there are important health reasons for spaying girls.
I would suggest 2 girls as they will need to be at least 8 weeks old before starting physical intros (10 weeks is better).

You could also see if any rescue rats are available - rats in rescues, shelters or being rehomed
