Hello, today I noticed my 1 1/2 year old rat has a bunch of small red scabs on her neck and back (no where else). I have one other rat in the same cage that has no scabs. I changed their food about 2 weeks ago and the food as a lot of sunflower seeds, so I was thinking that could be why this is happening. I rubbed some olive oil on her back and changed her bedding, but do you guys have any other tips for making the scabs go away? Also do you think the scabs are from the food, or something else? When my rats had mites they got scabs all over so that could be a possibility! My oldest rat has a lump with a scab and it’s a harmless cyst according to the vet. Just things to consider :)
