Black tooth

While feeding one of my rats a treat I noticed that one of his top incisors is completely black I'm not entirely sure if is should take him to the vets for antibiotics in case there's an infection

I would take him to the vet. Black tissue (excluding fur) is often a sign of necrotic, i.e. dead tissue which can be a breeding ground for bacteria.

a black tooth means the tooth is dead, and is likely to fall out soon. The whole tooth is black? Or are there black streaks?
