Can rattles eat beans(like garbanzo beans, and lima beans, or black eyed peas)? I read somewhere that beans are not ok. But I'm not sure it That's dried beans, or what. My friend gives her boys garbanzo beans and they love them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I’ve read that they can be fed, but NOT raw. Raw is bad for them, so they need to be cooked first. I’ve fed them chickpeas from a tin because they’ve been cooked first. However, from a bag they need to be soaked and cooked before being fed to your rats. So yes, only cooked can be fed to your rats not raw.

cooked is ok ....... just not too many as rats need low protein
Beans and legumes etc are very healthy

Mine loved cooked chickpeas and they also enjoy it when I make veg soup with beans, split peas etc (no added salt, etc)
