Fellow Ops and Agents,

We regret to inform you that, after a lifelong battle against his own lungs, Special Agent Chess retired this evening in the line of duty. His final battle was sudden and brief as he was ambushed by his foe. He fought valiantly to the very end.

While he was not always the friendliest when interacting with other agents and was viewed by some as a rogue element-- the kind who takes the law into his own paws-- he was forming a close bond with Ops prior to his retirement.

Here at SHIELD's Rat Division, we believe that every agent imparts a gift to the organization. Special Agent Chess' gift to us was imparting a better understanding of the psychological needs (and challenges) of our agents, a clearer understanding of their body language, and the importance of those elements in developing a mutually respectful connection, particularly in the case of rogue agents.

Special Agent Chess is survived by Agents Rook, Raven, Cleopatra, and Milo.

We miss him, we will always love him, and he will live forever in our hearts.

End transmission
