What to do with 2 seperate groups?

Ok great. I kept the cage away from the play area last night for the adults and it was good.

What to do with 2 seperate groups?

Can the free range area be the same for both groups at different times or would that have to be separate as well?

What to do with 2 seperate groups?

I'm too terrified to try until the babies are a good size. Timbit was introduced to 2 rats his size and they put him in place right away so he was chill. How do you manage out of cage time with groups? Also, can Espresso be able to interact with the babies at some point out of the cage and put...

What to do with 2 seperate groups?

Thank you that reply really helps my wife's and my decision with this while situation. We were originally going to surrender him back to the rescue we got him from. But he really likes it here and I don't want to take him away from somewhere he's comfortable with since he's been through so much.

What to do with 2 seperate groups?

Hi guys, Last Thursday my neutered male Timbit attacked and killed one or three babies that was being introduced to him instantly before my wife and I could stop him. I now have a situation where i have to keep Timbit and his cage mate Espresso seperate from the babies in a 2 story CN...

Spaying a 2 Year Old Rat

Surgery is this morning and she has grown another lump since i started this thread. I'm leaning more towards not spaying her as i don't know if she could handle that much done to her all at once. I'm still going to ask my vet their opinion before making a decision.

Spaying a 2 Year Old Rat

Hi guys my one rat Espresso is going to the vet on Tuesday to have 2 mammory tumors (marble size) removed and I was wondering if having her spayed at the same time would be too much on a 2 year old. I'm going to discuss this more with my vet but wanted to know if anyone has any advice as well...

    RIP Latte

I'm sorry about Peach. I like to think that they're helping each other cross the rainbow bridge to happiness.

    RIP Latte

Thank you lilspaz. It amazed me with how gentle she was with everyone, even new people.

    RIP Latte

Latte passed away this morning at the vets after a hard fight with a pituitary tumor. I would like to share the first day my wife and I met Latte to give everyone an idea of how special she was. We went to a breeder to pick up a rat to add to our mischief. We arrived and the breeder brought out...

    Lol that is true.

    Sudden Aggression to Sick Rat

We do more of a gentle stroke on his back. If we go near his neck, he will start turning sooner. He has a real issue with my wife's nails. She will be petting another rat, and he will lunge and attack her nails.

    Sudden Aggression to Sick Rat

I'm glad his balance hasn't be impacted. He's more tolerant of us outside of the cage, so we can get in a few more pets before he starts turning his head again slowly to bite lol.

    Sudden Aggression to Sick Rat

Sorry I didn't realize that you replied a few times lilspaz. How is Carson getting around balance wise with that tail? Timbit likes to bite semi-hard when we pet him and get behind his shoulders. He seems to be ok for the first few pets then he starts to turn his head and we know that a bite...

    Sudden Aggression to Sick Rat

Jeez! His tail is much shorter than Timbit's. Poor thing. He is a very cute boy though! Timbit is on the right, he's just missing the tip of his tail.

    Sudden Aggression to Sick Rat

We've had Timbit for 3 months now. He's come a long way already. I've never had a rat squeak before i even got close to pick them up before. He was extremely terrified of everything. Now every night when he comes out his cage, he gets zoomies and runs circles in the living room lol. He barely...
