    Baytril dosage?

Hey all, I decided to start a new thread with a more specific title as I'd like a response asap--I've tentatively decided to go ahead with the baytril for my 2 month old rattie who is sneezing and has raspy breathing (although if I receive impassioned opinions against this I'm open to hearing...

What would you do? Young rat + baytril

Hmm, I'm noticing ratguide says it's not recommended but previous and similar threads have member jorats recommending it...

Can I use carpet for the bottom of the cage?

Yeah, either take out the grate or use linoleum tiles or something similar that is easy to just wipe down. Honestly carpet sounds HORRENDOUS to clean, especially if it's plush/thick.

What would you do? Young rat + baytril

So I have two rats and a mouse. The ratties are maybe 6-8 weeks while the mouse is a year and a half. Unfortunately my mouse came down with respiratory issues and I spent my emergency vet fund getting him proper care. None of the medications have worked and his quality of life is really poor so...

    Correct ivermectin for rats?

Honestly I've always had excellent results with diametaceous earth. Just make sure not to let them inhale the dust.

He said he was a blue but...?

Yes rat fever is real! Congratulations and enjoy getting to know their sweet little personalities. Ps, I'm thinking he's blue agouti (http://www.afrma.org/rataoc.htm#blueag)

In your CN cage, what do you use to cover the plastic pans?

They get so gross if you don't cover them, trust. Honestly I gave up on fleece, got a cement mixing bin, trimmed on of its edges and it fits perfect in the CN (). Changing litter is so much easier than doing a load of laundry for me, as well. In terms of levels, shelves and ledges and ropes and...

    Infant rat, URI? Clicking

Sigh, I learned the hard way when I was handraising a wee mousie to feed it slooooow. Poor little one didn't make it after displaying similar symptoms :( Hope your little tyke pulls through!

Hello. I'm a new Rat Mommy.

I've handraised two mice, one didn't make it. It's common enough, so it makes sense for someone to be worried for this little one's welfare. Acting like a fool afterwards makes little sense. If you want a thread on rat antics, make one specifically for rat antics. Being unprepared to raise an...

what kind of rat do I have?

She's no older than two months, not sure exact age. Is it normal for the hair to grow back in? There's still a slight demarcation line but for the most part the 'shaved cape' is filling in. Will she molt again? https://s28.postimg.org/4dkjpgrz1/20170823_162421.jpg...

what kind of rat do I have?

How can you tell if she has rex in her? What is rex? She's in my hoodie now, resting after a photo session. What a lamb. resting in the hoodie https://s2.postimg.org/83m8y1xpl/20170818_154604.jpg adventuring in the land of bed https://s2.postimg.org/jeowmf4kp/20170819_080300.jpg...

what kind of rat do I have?

I find the fact that it looks like someone took a razor to her and forgot to finish very endearing. It's like a reverse cape haha. So far she hops out of the cage onto my hands with some confidence in her step. She's very curious and zooms around the land of bed like she owns it. Here are some...
