    Sharp Hardware Cloth

I following a tutorial for fastening on the inside as it looks nicer and it makes the chance of them getting anything stuck between the cage and wire apparently

    Sharp Hardware Cloth

Hi how do you get rid of the sharp edges after you've cut hardware cloth to fit the ferret nations? We tried sand paper blocks but it just stabbed through. Is there anything we could put on a drill to be faster or just a metal file? And if so what kind of metal file there's a million different...

    Rat Safe Paint?

And if I just use galvanized, how long will that stay good for before it has to be replaced?

    Rat Safe Paint?

Thank you, it looks like we may be scoring a used DFN tomorrow but my question of paint still stands :( or a place in Ontario that you can buy the coated stuff for not an arm and a leg?

    Rat Safe Paint?

Hi my best friend and I are getting our first rats, and are going to make a cage with c&c grids covered in hardware mesh since I got a sweet deal for over 40 of them for 15$. However, the coated hardware mesh seems very hard to find and very expensive in Canada for some reason, so I'm looking at...

    Changing Premade Cage?

I'm not saying that, I'm only getting two rats. There are no other cages in the market that are similar to a CN that are free standing and not in a stand. Both of the last cages linked say they fit 2 and 4 rats, and that's not including the shelving space that makes more usable space. I highly...

    Changing Premade Cage?

I can't have a critter nation. Other than that the only other cages I can get would be this cage http://www.waremfginc.com/sa-detaildisplay.aspx?itemno=00665 Or this cage...

    Changing Premade Cage?

Why would it limit shelving? It still looks like I could put both of them in if I just cut the same size door on one side of the pre existing door. This is the cage: http://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?adId=1010788352

    Changing Premade Cage?

Is there any easy way to make bigger doors on a storebought cage? I found one on kijiji, thats for 15$ but its the superpet one I think and the door is really small on it, is there any easy way to create a bigger secure door?

    Welcome to our newest addition!

Yes you have to powder everything, I use repashy all in one. I keep them in a kritter keeper in non instant oatmeal. They eat the oatmeal, and I throw in carrot or potato slices for hydration (though if you forget they wont die, I'm bad with remembering to throw them in) I buy about 50 at once...

    Welcome to our newest addition!

Some people say its not good, others say its fine, feeders are a pretty controversial topic in the reptile world lol. They are a bit higher in chitin, but are better than mealworms in meat to shell ratio. Many people feed mealworms and supers as staple, and the large breeders of leopard geckos...

    Welcome to our newest addition!

I feed superworms so I don't have many tips with crickets, other than you could feed in another bin. I've been told using one of the tall delicups put powder in and shake it up. I think they sell shaker cups at the petstore but I'm not sure how well they work. I just use damp papertowels in...

    Welcome to our newest addition!

Sand substrate is okay for adult geckos, but is always a risk of impaction no matter the size. If you are going to continue using sand, use sifted play sand, NOT calcium sand. I wouldn't do a terrarium carpet, they are hard to wash and harbour bacteria, plus their claws have a tendency to get...

    Welcome to our newest addition!

I have a leo too Is that sand in the tank? I would personally take it out as it's an impaction risk. What are you feeding her/supplementing with? She should have 3 hides, a warm hide, humid hide and cool hide. The best way to heat is via a heatmat hooked up to a thermostat...

    SUPER STINKY CAGE! Help?

Is the cage powdercoated or galvanized? Galvanized metal soaks up the pee smell, that could be why its so smelly.

    Cages other than CN

Doe anyone have a picture of a base pan wrapped in hardware cloth? I don't know why but I'm having trouble picturing it.

    Cages other than CN

Would it be too big/heavy to bring on the bus?

    Cages other than CN

No there's no petcos in Canada sadly, and they don't ship here. There's only a few petsmarts around too, but the closest one is about a 20-30 min bus ride so it's doable.
