Coconut Oil Treat: Safe or No?

Coconut are fine. I buy this Dehydrated organic coconut meat chips for my dogs and the rats do enjoy them too. I also mix in Cold pressed Organic Coconut Oil to their wet treats (Moistened Organic Wheatgerm) once in a while.

    Rat food?

amanda1472 - Whilst that 3 are the most recommended, I believe that bobthealien already stated that the choices in their area is limited, so I won't be too hard on pushing that 3. Of course, if they can find that 3, it's be best. Personally, choices are limited for me in Singapore and I mix...

    Add-ons for Kaytee cages?

Superpet has very horrible plastic levels - The pee get flooded in their "drain-like" thing around it. I had a Superpet cage and I was so peeved with washing it. Do you think you can get wire mesh and DIY your own levels, perhaps? Covering it up with ceramic tiles/ fleece and they will be safe...

    Carefresh came moldy.

I think it depends from batches to batches! I heard they sometimes do not try the bedding throughout enough then stuffs them into the bags to make up for the lack of time, that's when the Carefresh smells bad and feels wet to the touch. I honestly stopped using Carefresh for any of my pets for...

    Carefresh came moldy.

I use this for my mice and past hamsters and it was great, and I am still using it for Mr. Meece; Though I don't think rats will do well with it. Carefresh smells about like diarrhoea to me right now :sick2:

Vicious rat, or just confused? - SNIP TIME FOR CASS!

I guess I was right about him being afraid from being alone all of the sudden! If he is mellow and occasionally have some power fight, I won't deem it a problem as long as no blood is drawn and he's not being mean to you like Mimo was :) I can tell things are looking up! :thumb up: Though...

    Carefresh came moldy.

That's awesome! Carefresh seems to have dropped in quality these days. Have you tried this? Apparently it is wayyy cheaper than Carefresh after expanding and it is less dusty compared too.

rats are fighting what should i do

It is unfair and cruel to keep a rat alone - As long as there are no bloods or serious wounds, it's not foul play. Male rats also does tend to be more hormonal and they could be just settling some issues with all their new territories in your new home. You can do force socialisation by having...

How should I be interacting with my rats?

UhHuhHer - I can't help but worry I am having one out more than the other; And I am a overly worrywart (Like them falling off my shoulder or something). jorats - I guess I'll have to spend more time with them. But I realised that they prefers to run and hide or play or doze around during...

How should I be interacting with my rats?

I've always feared I am not doing enough... I now let them out on my floor (In a playpen) and I normally sit with or lie down for them to explore all over me for 10 minutes or something before I get busy again; Though my legs are still where they are and they can still climb all over my leg -...

Who actually enjoy cleaning their rats' cages?

Okays, I can't speak for others whom have wayyyy more rats than I do, but I really look forwards to every Sunday's cage cleaning! I love washing and cleaning their stuffs, and decorating (You don't know how long I spend on this!) and then after seeing the rats making messes and enjoying...
