Fostering has been very rewarding. It's always tough to say farewell to familiar faces but when they go to good homes....it's so satisfying too. THe babies are a riot. It's fantastic knowing what I do with them will forever affect how they view humans.... as a dispenser of cheerios ;)...

Hi everyone! This past year I've gotten quite involved with Rattie Ratz rescue in the Bay Area, California. Most of what I've been doing is fostering, writing articles for them, doing paperwork and designing stuff too. We are currently fostering a mom, her sister and her 10 babies! MUCH...

I get updates from my mom.... I definitely do not miss shoveling snow and scraping the windshield!! I do miss all the wonderful people tho!

The way I see it - by fostering, I can make sure MORE rats find forever homes. If I adopt, it just means 2 will find a home. Of course I say that now - when it comes time to give them up I might be singing a different tune....

I'm fostering for Rattie Ratz - got my two little guys yesterday. It's so wonderful to have rats again. The berk we're calling Indy since he is very adventurous and the hoodie is Leto, since the hubby is a big Dune fan!

I give mine ice cubes. Sure it gets a little wet and messy but it's just water and evaporates. Plus it's hilarious watching them try to hoard it, lick it and push it around the cage.

I think I worry sometimes that I'm being selfish but it's hard to think about letting her go when she still covers me in kisses. Who wants to let go of that?

I'll take it day by day for now. Her eyes still have that sparkle and Boo is being VERY protective of her. There's a 24 hour emergency clinic that's about 8 blocks north of me and I'm about 15 mins away from Dr Munn so I have two fairly accessible vets. My heart just breaks :(

Cotton over 3 years old. She has a large tumor that weighs just as much her as well as HED. She can't clean herself any more so I have to bathe her once or twice a day. You would think there is no quality of life but her eyes are still bright and she tries so hard to run to the door of the cage...

I love that he's bruxing and boggling. You can tell he's so happy :)
