It could be hind end degenerations.

2 very scared and bitey male rats

How old are the rats. Pet store rats are typically scared rats. They will require a lot of time and lots of gentle handling. Giving them treats will help. Continue with the wet treats from a spoon. Once they learn to lick the treats, you can then start to offer the wet treat on your finger...

    Mites?

Almost always, tiny cuts on rats is due to mites. I would do a treatment with Revolution. It's very safe for rats.

    Rat Acting Strange

It could very well be a pituitary tumour causing these issues or it could just be hind end degeneration. Both are common in aging rats.

    Food Do's and Dont's

For males to be affected by d-limonene, they would need to eat so much of orange peel... that will never happen. Don't worry about giving them oranges once in a while.

Pet rats & Pest House Mice ( Mouse) in apartment

Hi, as for your wild mice, I'd be more worried about you and your kids being exposed to that. It's too bad your landlord doesn't do a better job at maintaining a safe space for her tenants. Nothing will stop mice except covering all the outside holes and removing all sources of food and water...

    New diet? Help!

Rats really don't need dog food ever. They can get enough protein from grains and veggies and seeds which you can can offer them as a supplement. But I would keep offering the pellets, it's formulated for all their nutritional needs. It should be their staple food.

Any rat parents on here notice what music their rats like?

    Controlling playful biting

Some rats are like that. They are nippers and they just play rough. I've had plenty like that. When my guys would start to play to rough, I would remove myself for the play area for about 10 minutes and then come back. I always offered treats when the play was good and soft. They are still sweet...

Thornless blackberry twigs as chew sticks?

I did a quick google search and I can't find anything about it being toxic to animals. So I'm guessing it should be safe. Be careful you are not bringing in any bugs to them though.

    Three New Girls

At this age, I would simply work on exposing yourself to them as much as possible. Lots of touching and talking and handing out treats.

    Controlling playful biting

I think at this point, it's best if you stop playing rough with her. Her nipping could actually escalate to a real bite. You could use a cat toy, a feather on a stick to get her to run after it for more vigorous exercise.

    Stressful Introduction

It's very common for rats to be very upset when there's a new guy in town. You need to allow them to get used to being next to each other. I would leave the cages side by side. And I would continue to add items from the each others cages as well. Radar needs to "get used" to the idea that...

Does Ensure help rats gain weight?

I would stay away from Ensure, it's got way too much sugar. What you could do is avocado, coconut, soy milk, raw sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds.
