    Sewing Help

Wow that backstitch is a very interesting one. I think I'll try that on my next project. Maybe i'll invest in that pixie too. Right now I just have a little hand held quick sewing machine. Thanks for all your help, I'll post pics of my hammocks as soon as I finish some new ones :)

    Baby wont eat

alright thanks for the advice. The bottles I have kinda drip naturally too, it's a slow drip but I'll add a small bowl beneath it so none of the water's wasted

He's about a month old. I'll try some baby cereal and maybe some veggies too. I'm sure those will be good for him too. Thanks

    Sewing Help

I've made a lot of hammocks for my ratties but they always seem to kinda fall apart after a while. The thread comes undone and the fabric separates at the point where I sewed it. I was wondering what sort of methods do you guys use for making neat clean professional looking hammocks? also those...

    Baby wont eat

Oh update, I left some kix in his cage and he's munchin on those so maybe he was just a little too nervous to eat before

    Baby wont eat

Well he's in a small travel carrier right now which is really big for him because he's such a tiny thing and he mainly hides in his blanket. I put food outside of it last night but the only thing he nibbles on is the dried corn and I don't think that's enough for him. I'm tempted to make some...

    Baby wont eat

I wear my hoodie when I have him out and let him hide in the pouch, he also likes to climb up on my shoulder and snuggle into where the hood is. He's not like super calm but calm to the point where he's not frantically trying to go here there and everywhere. I still can't get him to eat though...

    Baby wont eat

hmm well he sounds a little squeaky when he breathes like umm.... "ur ur ur" it's hard to listen close because when you hold him still he starts to tremble and the sound of him trembling and his heart going "da da da da da da da" makes it impossible to hear anything. but when he's moving around...

    Baby wont eat

Ok so you all probably know about my newest boy Quill who is an absolute sweetie. One of the best babies i've had in terms of being calm and chilled. However I can't get him to eat anything. I know he's probably nervous being in a new home but I've never had a rat that didn't want to eat...

    New Addition Needs a name

After quasar's death we knew we couldn't just let mouse live alone for the rest of his life. Soooo Introducing the unnamed boy [youtube:3msrxop1]rrsIOua8Tpg[/youtube:3msrxop1] Not sure what to name him and he's far too small to go in the cage right now (possibly even after quarantine) because...

Signs of Old age kicking in?

Well Unfortunately... Quasar just died. *sobs* I'm not sure what was wrong with him, I think it was age but it could have been something else that took him over the course of a couple days. Last week he was walking around and eating and drinking fine. He was breathing kinda hard though, like...

Signs of Old age kicking in?

What's a Pituitary tumor? is it something I could see/feel on him? Just a quick video of how he's acting: [youtube:2h3x0fln]mqBUEmICvpw[/youtube:2h3x0fln] if it doesn't work, give it a few minutes cause I just uploaded it.

Signs of Old age kicking in?

Update*** I think it's much more serious than I thought. Quasar can't even stand up. Is it possible he had a stroke or is that common in old rats. I put him back in the cage this morning and tried to stand him up and he just flopped over on his side and he tried to move a little but his legs...

Signs of Old age kicking in?

Well I feel the health of my rats is based off the fact that Ben, Quasar, and mouse were all from pet stores and Batty was the result of accidentally breeding Ben and Coccoa (both pet store rats). So could their early aging just be the fact that their genetics are not well due to being from "rat...

Signs of Old age kicking in?

Man it just seems one after another my rats are getting problems. Right now I have Quasar (2 years) and Mouse (1 year) who have been doing very well together since the death of Ben and Batty. However, quasar is worrying me. Occasionally while he's sleeping he'll make a sort of "chirp" sound...

HELP possible infection? Update- RIP Ben and Batty

Unfortunately as I predicted, Ben's son Batty developed the same type of tumor on the opposite side of his head and passed away on the 21st of december. It may sound cruel, but we opted out of the surgery for him because it seemed to do more harm than good for ben due to the location. Batty was...
