Hi, i'm having a concern about my rat. Billy was black and white, but recently he's turning more and more grey and white. Is that any normal or are we looking at some fur/skin diesease? I probably should also mention that he's about 5 months old, and the thing started about 2 months ago, and seems to still be progressing.

It is very likely a baby molt. When they she'd, or lose their baby fur, sometimes it grows back in a slightly different color.

baby molts usually start at 6-7 weeks of age and are the biggest colour change. They will molt but its not as obviious later on. Is he getting white hairs in his black coat? This is called silvering. Can you post a pic so we can see what you mean? He may also be a russian blue but a pic will help us figure it out.

He was completely black on his back, and now he looks like this:

Don't mind the fierce look, i took the photo imediately after he woke up.
