I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any good vets in Edmonton or Calgary who would see pet rats?

Alberta is officially "rat free" so you're technically not allowed to have them as pets, which makes their access to medical care more limited.

Please private message me if you are aware of anyone.

Thanks!

you're technically not allowed to have them as pets,
is an understatement
Rats are illegal in Alberta
Neighbors, friends etc will report one another for having pet rats.
Vets will also report people as it is illegal to have pet rats in Alberta.

Any pet rats discovered are immediately killed - often in very inhumane ways if the videos I have seen of pet rats being beaten to death by the authorities are any indication.

Several years ago a shelter in Alberta took in a pet rat. The rattie was fortunate as the shelter was able to get permission and permits to save the rat by having it flown to a rat rescue in BC (Canada) …….. there may still be posts about this as rat owners in other provinces tried to save the rattie - it was a very big deal

People who care about rats do not take them into Alberta
Even driving through Alberta with your pet rats will get them killed.

I am very sorry that someone has rats in Alberta.
I hope that they get the care they need
I hope that someone knows of a good vet

Rats are illegal in Alberta and this is extremely serious
- rat owners face fines and the pet rats are usually slaughtered ...……. here are some posts about a few very fortunate little ratties:
