Hi guys, i adopted my first pair of rats. I noticed that one of them is "odd eyed" one red eye and one black eye. He is behaving normal at the moment but I'm quite worried now that if he has late onset mega colon , his brother will be left alone. Should I be worried?
I think he is also a high white, i'll post a picture of him below.

Here is the picture of him.

cute boy

I would suggest keeping an eye on both boys (which actually applies to most rats in North America since most rats bred for sale seem to have high white markings or be from litters where siblings had high white markings).

If he does develop late onset megacolon then there will be things you can do, such as feeding him Woody's diet.

Just keep an eye on him. Look for signs of bloat followed by diarrhea. Be aware of any odd or smaller poops consistently in his cage. Fingers crossed he will be fine. I have had many odd-eyed high white marking rats go through and only one case of late onset Megacolon. It's a lot more rare than the early one
