Hi everyone, a couple of hours ago after cleaning their cage (with rat safe cleaner) I noticed that one of my rats - Milly - wouldn’t move from the corner of her cage, she had her front paws against it and was almost leaning against it. I got her out and she just sits on me which is unusual for her - she seems kind of alert but not completely. It seems like her eyes have developed a reddish tint too - not the normal secretion they have but her actual pupil.
She also feels quite warm and her breathing is quite shallow.
Does anyone have any experience with anything like this? Thank you

I'm not sure what it all could mean but if sounds like some bleeding is happening in her eye... I'd call a vet as soon as possible before she gets worse.
 
She’s eating today and seems a lot more active but I’ll be taking her to the vets today. I’ve never seen any of my rats I’ve had over the years behave like this - it’s so strange. Thank you for your reply.
