hello everyone, back around Christmas I adopted 2 male 4 weeks that were meant to be snake bait. One is named Emile and the other Remy; so far it’s been a little challenging to earn their trust but the little I receive is more than worth it.

Anyways my main questions is what do you recommend they eat? At the moment I’ve been feeding them a brand for rats that’s with mixed seeds and chunks of lab block which they are eating just fine. However they DO NOT accept any kind of treats from me even fresh fruit. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice? I want to be a amazing rat mommy

you may also want to give some organic soy infant formula thickened with baby cereal as they should still be with their mama

and offer a variety of daily vegs …… since rats can not vomit, they will try a tiny amount and then if it doesn't make them ill, they may try a bit more next time

and make sure they have a water dish that can not be tipped over. rats need at least 2 sources of water in their cage and at least one source should be a water dish. Plus babies and young rats do not have tongues strong enough to move the ball bearing in water bottles and therefore can't get any water out, although they may look like they are.

Here is some info that may be helpful as it contains the forbidden foods list and other info https://www.ratshackforum.com/threads/reference-thread-read-only.35894/
