Lucas one of our four brothers that came to us to keep our older boys company suffered a neurological problem and slowed down a couple of weeks ago...It was obvious he had changed as he would be the stasher and hoarder of treats in the bunch running from top to bottom to see if any of the others had left their treat behind so he could pile them in the corner of his hut...but it was noticeable he lost interest in this and would spend his time at the bottom of the cage...Normally a very independent soul who would only on occasion enjoy a fuss from us...but he did not run away when picked up...He slowed down rapidly and started his journey in his much loved hut with his remaining two brothers beside him... It is hard when one of our furballs go but two within the space of a week adds a little more to that sadness.
When Lucas catches up with Riley there will be 70 furballs to keep him busy patrolling for left over treats and he will be fit and well enough to run from one rat pile to the next investigating.
