Would it be safe to use particle board to make a little house in a play area for my rattie?

I googled it
Particle board is made by compressing wood chips with glue ....... In standard particle board, urea formaldehyde is mainly used as glue. The amount of glue in a particle board is 10%
from https://www.woodproducts.fi/content/particle-board

Since rats chew things, and particle board contains a large % of glue and chemicals, I would not use particle board to make a house for them.

Instead I would make them a house out of a (edit: cardboard) box or attach boxes to make them a castle etc They love playing in boxes containing crumpled paper and with several holes for doorways - they would have fun chewing it and peeing on it so it would need to frequently be replaced

or I would go to a hardware store and get them to cut a board for me and build a house for them out of solid UNTREATED wood - untreated because they will chew it

good luck and I hope you post lots of pics

EDIT: I reread your question and noticed you wrote "my rattie"
If you only have one rat then the best thing you can do is get your rat one or more rattie friends to live with - rats need to live with other rats Please see:
Because rats are territorial, unless all rats are under 12 weeks old, new rats must be gradually introduced. There is good info on how to do this at joinrats.com and here are the gradual intro steps https://www.ratshackforum.com/threa...ps-used-when-putting-new-rats-together.32368/
