Looking to adopt

Hello everyone!
I’m brand new to this site but not to rats or rodents or animals of all sorts, for that matter!!!
I live in the suburbs of Chicago and am wondering if anyone can give me about finding a few new companions into my life!
Specifically in regards to rats, I at one time rescued 6 brothers & they were all precious. They were my first experience with rats & I loved it. That was many years ago & I am wanting to dive back into the ratty pool!
I would love to adopt a pair of babies or young ladies so I can raise them as my own. And I know it’s probably frowned upon to ask for specifics but I will throw this out there anyway... I am specifically drawn to the Dumbo Rex blue/grey rats. I love their expressions, mannerisms & sweet fuzzy little bodies!!!
If anyone knows of a rescue or actual responsible breeder, your information would be very much appreciated!!

You could check sites such as Kijiji and Craig's list for people rehoming accidental litters, as well as local shelters.

I do realize that this is a rescue sight but thank you for the reminder. I hope I didn’t offended anyone with my question about finding an ethical & responsible breeder.
I know that there are many people out there who are NOT breeding for health but for “feeders” and then try to sell off the “pretty rats” for a higher profit. Both situations are disgusting & disturbing. So again, my question was not meant to offend or deter from your noble cause here. I am in search of companion pets, who need care & love & a safe, healthy environment.
