Yo left an intact male with intact females?

I could be wrong but I believe Canarats no longer breeds and is only involved in rescues and/or helping the local shelter with rescues...?

I read thru all the threads but then I forget LOL

ETA: argg I clicked on the links in her post, apparently she is breeding

She breeds for herself and keeps all of the babies. (She told me this herself) so I don't really see the problem. :/ it's nobodys business if she isn't adopting out rats

Actually it is our business we do not support breeders. This does not make it ok nor acceptable here. You should check that attitude at the door and remember we are rescued based if she is going to breed then she has a bigger problem.

It is never ok to make more lives when there are so many that need a home. If she left an intact male with females that was irresponsible as hell. If this mom had a small litter that would indicate she is older and she put her life at risk.

I remember her giving rats up that she could not care for medically so really I see no reason for her to bred.

This is a RESCUE forum... so yes, it matters a great deal. Charlie, I really hope you can respect us enough to not be sharing your breeding here. You've been with us a long time and you know where we stand.

I understand that this is a rescue forum. I did not respond with an attitude I'm just stating that what people do in their own homes isn't anyones business if it doesn't involve them. She isn't adding more lives if she keeps every baby. If she left a random intact male with a female then yes that is irresponsible. I wasn't responding to that. Maybe you should check your attitude and realize this is the internet and tone cannot be shown through text.

I don't breed and never will, but if someone is breeding for their self and keeping the offspring to improve the species I have no problem with that. Not everyone wants to rescue for various reasons. I don't know much about her breedings but I think we should maybe let people respond before jumping to conclusions.

There is no need to be vicious to a fellow rescuer for expressing an opinion. Of those 13 rats I adopted from Animal Services, Donna and Minnieflower were the only ones who gave a hoot .

Its Charlotte. No one was offered any rats from me, or ever will be. Please reference me which rule I broke from your list thankyou and I will try to avoid it in future

Since the sweet, innocent thread of my beautiful PET rats has already been disrespected and sullied in a way I would never do to anyone else, I would like it be known that Jorats once had the honor of an adopted rat from me. I kept it secret because of the adopted child and great rescue things she was doing, but since ppl r taking kindness for blindness, truth is the best policy.

I now have 11 rats in my care from a recent trip to Animal Services (13 before Minnieflower helped) that do not feed, cage, clean or socialize themselves. Can I ask the rest of you...what have *you done lately?

I'm honestly not in on the rescye vs breeder fight because I have rescue friends and breeder friends. Both care very much for their rats and are great people. I just believe in letting people explain themselves before attacking.
