Fortunately I already had a dr's appt for him tomorrow!
Just noticed they are a very light blue. Have been puffy since yesterday.

What is this?

after work & after we get back from the vet tonight I will post some & hopefully have an explanation for them

How did it go?

I am exhausted.....to make a long story short:

It is not his testicles themselves that are actually blue. According to the ultrasound - there is a growth abt exactly the size of his testicles, but not in his testicls from what I understand. She said the blue could be from bleeding or it is just the color of the growth. This Gulf Coast Animal Hosp is supposed to be the cream of the crop, it's the top one your vet listed. They are in a very NICE HUGE BUILDING that looks like a human hosp. Their prices are for the rich & famous. I am so damn broke right now, with them telling me I need more tests. RX wise she gave him Vit K to help stop any bleeding & Tramadol. Then I get home & they did not even sweeten the stuff!!!! Told me to keep an eye on the blue color ^ call if it gets worse.
I was just at the point of telling her to pts both Matt & Luke. They are throwing all these tests & prices @ me & I am balling my eyes out.
THEN she calls me today to check on Matthew & Luke too as he went along. She got the xray for Luke from my vet this morn. & told me that she could tell his heart was enlarged. She could see it - my vet could not?!?!?!?! Anyways she recommended TESTS. Look, I cannot fork out hundreds of dollars, I do not have it. If I did - I surely would. It's not that I don't want to, I CAN'T. It's a crappy weekend for me. I will take apic of the blue color, I want you to see it. I am just so mentally tired.

When it comes to tests ask it if will change the treatment. If not, don't do them. That's what we do.

So Matthew has an abdominal growth? Tramadol is good. Vit K - potassium?

Did she have a plan for Luke? We don't do anymore than an x-ray on our cardiac or pulmonary rats - treatment won't change.

Well - I guess if a test would shine some more information as to what is going on, then perhaps might be other options on how to treat, like diff meds? But I see what you are saying.

She is giving Matthew Vit K-1 to help stop bleeding ( in case there might be, as the blue "might" be indication ). Only way could tell is if the blue started disappearing after the use of K1 for a few days.

No treatman plan for Luke UNLESS I let them do more tests - like a 2nd view of the heart, as there is only 1 view that was taken. I am just really wanting to try the Theophylline, not sure if my vet orders it as he said he would. Won't know till Monday. Luke does not have time on his side.

What are your thoughts of the pic of Matthew?

No I haven't. Either that mass burst and that's internal bleeding - which I would assume is no longer bleeding since its been three days. Or circulation is compromised some how. You've got some odd stuff going on. If I was you though and I had to choose I'd go with surgery over any more tests. Guess the vet isn't too worried.

It just struck me - perhaps he had an internal injury and that is just where the blood pooled. It does look like bruising above his penis too.

I thought that too, but she said there is a growth on the ultrasound.

Ladies: I have been so sick to my stomach over this all day.

I have some more talking to do to my "original" vet. But can't till Monday. He will need to get the views from the overly priced vet.

I wonder if Mattie were not a nakie, if I would have noticed, specially his belly

That would be my fault

Oh NO it is NOT your fault! If I had not had that place as an option to go to, I probably WOULD have lost my mind!!! At least they were willing to see me so late AND if he did indeed require an emergency surgery - they said they could do it. I just asked for the heck of it how much a neuter would cost if he needed one............$350 was the answer.
