They are beautiful ladies and I got some great (blurry) shots of their amazing colour and pattern.
Here is blazed girl

Yes they are in a pretty tiny temp cage for the night still so much better then the filthy 15gallon tank they were in.

Very clear they've been in the tank their whole life. They don't climb much at all..maybe seen one or two attempts and mostly from blaze girl.
They are both eating now and I hope have drank some though not sure they know how to use a bottle.

That is so sad :( It took Hope awhile to figure out that she could actually climb on the bars though she kinda steers clear with that egg on her leg and Boo Bear is still figuring it out. I really wish people would realize that tanks are just not proper for keeping rats in not just health wise but also physically and emotionally I think it takes away from them :( I am so glad you got them so they can start living like a normal rat should and not in a glass box!

So glad you saved them. I don't get how people can be so heartless but fortunately there are people like you that have huge hearts that kind of balance things out. Now they can live in a great home where they will be loved and well cared for.

So what are their personalities like? Are they friendly? Worried? I'm glad they are curious about you.
I hate to say it, but perhaps they should be on pregnancy watch...

They are definitely on preg watch! Especially little podgey bellied blaze girl! Won't that be fun that these girls and my skinny pig, Booty, if she is pregnant, would have similar due dates. Baby critters all over! Though I'm sure at this point Booty is not pregnant!
They are quite relaxed, curious and sweet. They are loving the food...they each ate a good handful of block this afternoon when we got home finally. And thankfully I have confirmed they are using a water bottle :) they do it so strangely though, they want to be sitting on something leaning down to the bottle nozzle!
Definitely not biters at all! Haven't even grazed teeth over me yet. I am able to put my hands anywhere around them and on them and other then getting a bit tensed up they don't show any sign of aggression.

ALSO....We have names!!
The lovely dual eye coloured girl is Oracle. And she is already liking to answer to it for ear scritches.
Blaze girl is Goddess, and really wants ear scritches but is a bit tense with a hand over her.

They had under the shirt time in my sweater and were more then happy to chill in my hood for a good long time. Blaze girl quivered for a while but settled eventually :)
Their presence is clearly noticed by all these boys. We put them up in our room so that my more hormonal boys don't completely lose their minds...*ahem*Yoshi*ahem*
Having fun getting out my pink girly decorations again. Though I sent a lot of it off with the other girls. Once no pregnancy is obvious these girls will be up for adoption :)
They are definitely younger like 4 months max. Oracle was popcorning about in their new big cage...was so freaking cute she was enjoying some free space! Teared me up a little!

I could go on forever about how amazingly strong these two are for having been left for dead.
They are starting to climb a few bars up and jumping down, what fun Goddess thinks that is!

I have room for two girls now. But there are some at Moncton SPCA who need a home.
Ooooh, keep us posted. :)

I'm glad the girls have such lovely personalities. It will make it easier to re-home them when it is time. Or spay them and toss them in with the boys. :cheeky:

They will make great additions to a family wanting females. They spent a good hour or longer on the couch with me lastnight and were the chillest most well behaved girls I've had since Peach and Mellow.
They snuggled up into my carebears and gave each other baths and finally cleaned their own tails which were sticky and always wet!
They smell much better this morning having been on clean aspen and having room to play and groom. They have both eaten lots of food and already filled their water bottle twice. They are enjoying every minute of their fresh start.
They even thoroughly enjoyed some orange pepper and apple last night. Weigh-ins start tonight for both girls.

ETA pictures duh!
Oracle is a chin snuggler as well as she practised some rodentistry

You are probably right Godmother I am quite in love already.

The girls have been weighed now (lastnight) and are surprisingly hefty in weight for their small size.
Oracle weighs in at 252g
And Goddess at 250g on the nose.
Will weigh again tonight in a few hours for the comparison

So tonight's weights are Goddess at 235g quite a drop from lastnight but she's eating her eggs furiously tonight...:s
And I feel one of Oracle's weights has to have been wrong as she weighed in at a whopping 300g tonight. We'll see tomorrow

Ok so tonight I am now really thinking I have my first pregnant little ratty girl.
Weight journal as follows
Goddess (who I originally pegged as the possible pregnant one)
01/05/15 250g
01/06/15 235g
01/07/15 260g
Which right now seems like food weight gain
BUT miss Oracle who I was weighing for the sake has me now thinking we may have babies coming.
01/05/15 252g
01/06/15 300g
01/07/15 330g
What a gain for such a petite little girl.
I don't know if night 1 was a misread but last night and tonight were 3/3 on weight I weigh her 3 times to be sure its correct. So at least a 30g increase over 3 days...oh boy...hope she's just really enjoying her fresh foods.

Missed posting weigts for lastnight.
Oracle dropped down to 278g
Goddess is sitting at 254g
What is going on with this little girl!? (ORACLE)
She's all over the scale. I make sure she's sitting as much the same each time and take best of 3 weight readings. Lastnight she did pop to 300g on one weigh but 278/280g was the norm.

Can you get us some pics of them? The fact that Oracle dropped back down seems like she's not pregnant... How long have they been with you now?

Had them since last Saturday night. They had been left alone since Jan 1st. So no boys around any later then that. So just a week now away from any possible boys.
Tonight she holds steady at 276g as well as Goddess. They weiged exactly the same tonight.
She's still normal shaped, no real belly per se. Just a normal little girl full belly with tasty food.
I will take pics any way as she's so freaking photogenic!
