You should hopefully know if she's pregnant within a week, and if she is wait on the ivermectin. If her skin is fine, and she's just scratching a little more than usual then wait and see how she does. IF she does have babies, you can treat them all later on with the much much safer Revolution.

I'm kind of second guessing myself now. I'm not sure if she is pregnant or just fat. These pictures were taken with a better quality camera. What do you guys think?

Next Sunday we would have had her for three weeks so we will know. If she is pregnant, she is due some time this week.

Well, now I'm about 80% sure she is pregnant and now my mom is panicking again, lol. Thanks for the comparison! That actually helps, unlike the info from the vet. ^^ He didn't give us any good info, really.

I want my money from the vet back, hehe. If she does give birth, i'll be calling the vet.

Pregnancy can be hard to determine, he probably didn't want to say a strict yes or no because he didn't want to be wrong.
I'd say you definitely treat her as if she is pregnant.
Aww your poor mom haha. It will be okay!
Handle the babies from birth and raise them up healthy. Start looking for homes right when they are born, even if they need 6 weeks before they go home. Take lots of super cute pictures. It will help that they are hand raised and socialized. C:

You and your mom can get the word out, see if any friends or family members would give any of them a good home. Do you go to school? You could see about making some flyers looking for homes. Maybe your mom could bring some to work, network with people you know. Just make sure the homes are good. You will want to ask some questions to make sure they take good care of them. You can post on Craigslist and Ebay Classifieds for free. Don't adopt out a boy & girl together.

Yeah. But he also said he didn't feel anything abnormal. He should say something at least. At the very least say "I'm not sure". I think the owner of his patient at least deserves that. If I didn't double check with this forum, I would have assumed she wasn't pregnant and then BAM! one morning there are babies and I'm not prepared. At least an "I'm not sure" would give me more info than what he gave us.

Anyways, taking cute pictures won't be an issue! As for raising them, if we can care, socialize, and find home for orphan kittens, then we can do this. The only problem is that we might keep a few. ;) I hope this ordeal will be easy on her!

I don't go to school, but we have contacts. Maybe we can find a home for some of them. We know, personally, a rat owner in South Carolina who owns all males maybe they could help us too.

Ya you're right. He should have said something. At least you learned he's a pretty cruddy rat vet ha!

That'd be awesome if you could keep some or all of the baby girls. I am sure that momma rat would be happy to have her daughters around. :)

Probably not all of the girls but my mom said at least two lol Well need to see how big her litter is. I hope no more than ten!

Yeah, let's stay with the vet we 100% trust!

Momma, especially being so young, will need extra protein sources in her diet...if you are vegan, I will have to turn you over to more experienced hands but if not, egg, fish and lean chicken are great choices. This will help her and her babies grow and develop.

She's probably eating a ton too.

Keep weighing, as it will help determine the health of the pregnancy, or if she starts to reabsorb etc.

All she does is groom, sleep, and eat and eat. She was eating some eggs (we love meat and are not vegan ^^) so we could give her some of that. We aren't big fish people but chicken we can do. Are hard boiled eggs ok? Just to confirm, the chicken needs to be Cooked, right? If she reabsorbs the litter, will that harm her? I think she is on an 18% protein diet but I'll give her supplements.

A big, fat, thumbs down to that vet. If there is any suspicion of pregnancy, two biggies would be no ivermectin and no fasting! Geez Louise! It is only a week more of waiting. Better safe than sorry.
My latest addition had me thinking she was preggo, but 18 days in she finally went into heat. She had a big belly too, but that was because she was starved. Either way, give her lots of food. She is a growing baby regardless of if she's preggo, so she needs good nutrition. Good luck, we'll be watching...

I just weighed her again and she weighed 169 grams. She was 158 yesterday day. Is it normal to gain that much weight? She gained 11 grams.

That sounds like a normal healthy gain for a pregnant momma. ^_^

Lilspaz reported a pregnancy gain on another thread:

Ok! I'll, monitor her weight until the end of the week. By then, she would have given birth, if not, then she isn't pregnant.

I've also been reading the thread. :)
