John Holer (owner of Marineland) is an awful man. This could very well get him into lots of hot water, but the irony is that it won't be because he mistreated animals. It will be because of illegal dumping. The MOE takes that very seriously.

God, this makes me sick to my stomach. I live about two hours away from Marineland, and I remember being taken there as a small child. I thought it was great... Until we got to the bears. I was about four years old and we were looking at the bears and feeding them cornpops (cause thats definitely a good snack for grizzly bears...) and I remember seeing one bear with half of his nose missing, and I was so sad, I felt horrible for him. I was also terrified of the deer because they were so hungry they knocked me over trying to get to the food. Also, no word of a lie, I remember this vividly, the deer ripped my older sisters shirt all up the side trying to get to the food, thinking her shirt was something to eat. It was so sad. We went back about two years ago, with my younger siblings who were 4 and 2 at the time. I wasn't big on the idea of going, but I knew the kids would enjoy it since they don't understand, and there's no use trying to talk to my family about the abuse those animals are put through. We went, and I was actually apalled by the conditions of the deer park, those poor deer were so thin and most of them had discharge coming from their eyes, and they had cysts and tumours that were obviously not being treated, the whole ground of the deer park was layered in feces, like it hadn't been swept up in a week or so. It gives me the creeps to think that I was standing about two miles away from the buried corpses of the poor mistreated animals who lived there over the past 50 years...

I really hope that this will be the last straw and authorities will shut the park down.

it pains me to think that people will put animals in such terrible conditions just for money. i have never actually been to ,marineland, whenever my dad offered to take me i would yell at him about how its to terrible of a place and that going to it would be like killing all the animals there! i must have been a really angry seven year old!
