I love my boys. When they are sweet they are sweet to the bone, but sadly the same goes for mean boys. My rexzillas are all hormonal. I have delayed neuters after Frederick's death in December. After my finger wound and the fact that I still cannot use it properly and him biting Lear bad for no other reason other than being on the big part of the floor last week. It is totally time. Tomorrow his horrible testicles are gone. My nerves are shot. I am even considering taking Sendai with me so I don't waste an appointment if he does have a heart problem.

The only way they don't fight during out time. The only rats that touch this floor are the rexzillas and my big group of Templeton and dopey s groups. I open it for the bigger group. The rexzillas are to overwhelmed on the big part of the floor smelling the others so I have to keep them limited on who they can smell after. Crazy as it sounds and as simple of a solution, it works.
The beatles have won the neuter lottery because they are related and I cannot pinpoint which one is worse. So I will save the problems and just do them all LOL
Someone has split an ear open. I found a few small bite wounds and I can hear little tussles. I am trying hard to keep them together and not split the 3 up from the rest of the group but I will if i have to. For now they can stay, the neuter date is set for May 22.

These boys are thick.... and I mean thick. Their necks are the same size as their head. It is crazy how big the build is on these boys.
Paul another thick necked boy. That is the classic look LOL
George, thick neck number 3
The first few months with boys can be great. The problem is around 4 months they seem to start with their hormones. then it is time to decide who can be or will be neutered. Most of my boys are amazing as far as temperament. The rexzillas, 3 of the 4 Beatles and Sendai are the only real problem rats. The rest which is a lot of boys are just total dreams and don't need it.
Fabian isn't a threat to my fingers nor is the other boys. He only got me because I failed to see his warning signs. Harder to tell when a rex is puffy and ticked off The same has went for their intros. I stopped them with Finley because you could tell Fabian and his high speed chasing is a recipe for disaster.
Dont get me wrong boys are amazing little love bugs but you may have to neuter them to find that in some of them. I see so many who pick up boys and have no idea what they can be getting into. Boy rats are amazing but you have to be prepared to neuter them to help them.
