Congrats! I hated that i had to have a c-section too. The after pain is ugh i remember crying when i had to cough as it hurts so so bad! I always said labor was easier lol i had my daughter normal with no meds but son was so different.

What a cutie!

:hugs:

great job, hon! and what a beautiful girl! congratulations!

c-sections are NOT the easy way out, that's for sure.
they did what they had to do for the safety of the baby but it sure is harder on the mom. I hope you have someone to help you!!
rest as much as you can, the worst of the pain is over pretty quickly but the tiredness of having major surgery can last a lot longer. Takes time for your body to recover.

give your little one a kiss and a cuddle from me ok?

Wow, congrats!!! Your baby is SOOO beautiful!
I hope the pain goes away soon. D:

My mom actually had one C-section with her last child, and my step-mom had a C-section last minute because something was wrong with the fluids or whatever. Anyways, they both said they liked it better than labor. And don't worry about the scar- I can't even see theirs! Just tiny little smidges, like a small scratch. :3

Congratulations on your beautiful daughter! Wishing you a speedy recovery from your surgery; that's rough when you have so much else going on. Hope you can get some rest

Marcy is beautiful! I'd give you suggestions on recovering from a csection but apparently I'm nuts, and was at Walmart 2 days after mine and taking walks 3 days afterwards. Just relax, get lots of help with the baby and take advantage of people doing your housework for you. Just enjoy your beautiful little girl. :)

She is beautiful! how much did she weigh? she has the cutest cheeks on her! I want to pinch them!

Congratulations! She is just beautiful!
I hope you will start to recover from your surgery soon so you will be more comfortable and be able to enjoy her without saying 'ow'!

Thank you thank you thank you!

To all those who asked about her weight/length/all that jazz, I'm sorry, I keep forgetting that those are things people want to know, haha!

She weighed 8lb, 6oz and is 22 inches long.
I'm 5'3", and amazed she had room to do ANYTHING in there.

She had her first at-home bath today, it was great, she peed everywhere, hurray!
We also had another first: she latched onto the boob WITHOUT CRYING FIRST, and stayed latched/eating for 30 minutes! (Not in the same feedings. But a girl can dream, yes?)

Lemme tell ya, I've been terrified about this whole breastfeeding thing.
Like is she getting enough?
Is it nutritious enough for her?
Why won't she latch immediately, does she not like it?

And I've felt terrible when I gave up a few times, and just gave her a bottle instead of fighting her on it.

Babies are awesome but frustrating.

Don't worry, your milk is the best thing for her and is definitely nutritious enough. :wink2:
You're doing great at breastfeeding! Eating for a full 30 mins is fantastic!! I couldn't get my daughter to nurse for more than 10 mins at a time at first. yes it can be frustrating at first, But if you just try to relax (I know easier said than done!) it does get better.
her not latching on immediately is because it's just as new to her as it is to you. almostEverything is new to her! pretty exciting. =)

the one thing she'll recognize is your voice, your heartbeat and she'll love your touching her. She listened to your voice all the time you were pregnant, and even though it will sound a bit different now that's she's not "under water", so to speak, she'll recognize your speech patterns etc. Talk to her, she'll know it's you.
It's one of the things some new mothers may forget to do, because they are so worried about doing everything "right"
Good news is, Marcy doesn't know what the "right" way is- so you really can't go wrong!!
:D :D :D

how are you feeling? :hugs:

Congratulations!!!! She is so adorable

Breast milk is the very best thing for a baby, not just because it is nutritious, but because when breastfeeding, if she is sick, your body will pick up the illness through your nipples, create antibodies, and pass the antibodies back to her through the milk. Babies' immune systems are not yet up and running so they definitely need this! You are basically acting as their immune system if you are breastfeeding.

Anyway, congrats again! She is so pink and cuddly looking!!! *Squee!* :joy:

Congratulations! She is so absolutely precious. I'm normally not one to go cooing over babies, but my ovaries are like twitching right now she's *that* cute.

LOL I must be nuts as well. I was up and walking around that same day..... meh no biggy for me.

You guys are so lucky, being able to be up and around so soon after the C-section.
I hurt sooo baaaad.

And now my "real" milk is in.
I don't think my boobies have ever been this sore.

It'll get better, hon.
every one is different in how they recover from major surgery- I've had several operations and the c-section was def the most painful. I was in the hospital for 6 days. You didn't just have surgery, you were also in labor for some time before that (I had been in labor for 19hrs before they decided to go ahead with the c section) plus all the sleepless nights with the baby kicking and keeping you awake. It's very draining. You are doing an awesome job!

it will get better, just hang in there, ok?

Does the baby sleep well for you?
